The cycle of cycling gear....
Lately I have purchased, in reverse chronological order-XT front derailleur
-Chain whip
-Cassette removal tool (to disassemble the rear gears)
-MTB jersey
-MTB shorts, both from Descente, and ridiculously expensive
-Another helmet (for MTB use)
-A hybrid CO2 inflator / pump for my road bike
-50 CO2 cartridges for my MTB CO2 tire inflator
and other miscellany. I'm scared to think of how much money I've spent.
On the other hand, I'm at least USING all of this stuff.
The past few days I disassembled the rear cassette, cleaned the cogs, degreased and re-lubed the rear hub. Also, I had to remove the chain to install my new front derailleur so I took the opportunity to completely degrease and re-lube it. (The chain, that is.)
I was never that happy with the front derailleur so I finally upgraded to an XT component. It seems to work nicely. I put everything back together today and did the adjustments. Rockbridge trail was closed today so I couldn't get out in the woods to really try things out.
Ahh cycling stuff. MMMMMMM!
